While animals are usually sweet and innocent, it’s safe to say that they can also have a bit of a mean streak when provoked. This is why it’s best to never do anything to aggravate them since consequences can sometimes be deadly. Today we have for you a list of 10 of the meanest animals in the world that might seem sweet at first but have the ability to cause some serious harm if angered! Much like these birds that are the epitome of beauty, that is, until you annoy them. Or this tiny animal that looks like it can’t do much harm when the truth is quite the opposite. Or this majestic bird that actively hunts human children. Let’s take a look.
Mute Swans
While swans are usually seen as quite a graceful animals, what most people don’t know is that they have an incredibly aggressive personality. Especially when it comes to defending their offspring, nest, or mates. They are known to regularly attack people who make the mistake of entering their territory, leaving no stone unturned in making sure they keep their offspring and nests protected from any harm that can potentially befall them. Even if they see you swim in a watercraft like a canoe, these swans will hiss loudly at you to warn you before physically charging towards you. And given the fact that they are the heaviest flying birds, you don’t really stand a chance against them.
Honey Badger

The honey badger is one animal that will attack any and everyone as evident from the fact that it was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the World’s Most Fearless Animal. Found mostly in Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent, the honey badger doesn’t have a lot of natural predators. Which explains why it is so fearless. Although it weighs up to 40 pounds, it can be terrifyingly mean and aggressive, no matter who comes in front of it. If in any situation the honey badger is cornered, it will just fight to the death even if the animal is much larger than itself, such as leopards, hyenas, or even lions. This warrior drive is supported by a body that has been specifically built for combat along with small eyes and ears that decrease chances of any injuries he may sustain in battle
Sea Otters

Did you know that you could catch serious diseases from sea otters? If you handle an otter or breathe the air close to a dead otter, you could catch bartonella (cat scratch disease), toxoplasmosis, brucellosis and coccidioidomycosis (valley fever)
People who handle live sea otters for a living must protect themselves from scratches and bites powerful enough to break bones. That’s not surprising, since sea otters are fierce carnivores, evolutionary cousins of badgers, ferrets, and wolverines.Sea otter behavior is so bad that some people consider them sea wolverines.
Sea otter moms will abandon pups to die of starvation if the mom isn’t healthy enough to raise the pup.
Scientists have observed some male sea otters pursuing, subduing, and attempting to mate with other species, such as harbor seal pups. Once again, these acts are sometimes so violent that the harbor seal pup dies – but the male sea otter keeps attacking the pup for up to seven days.
One sea otter attempted to mate with a dead bird and a dead dog. The otter was even suspected of killing the dog!
